It is located in Don Mueang District, Bangkok Province and was built in 1914. However, after Suvarnabhumi Airport was completed in 2006, Don Mueang Airport was changed to serve only domestic flights.
However, due to the significant increase in both domestic and international tourists, Don Mueang Airport resumed international flights in October 2012 with Air Asia (or Thai Air Asia) as the first airline providing international flights to destinations such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, China, Malaysia, India, Vietnam, Australia, as well as Japan and Korea.
